Siena Day Trip

Wednesday, July 17, 2013:

We had a fabulous day in Siena - What a trip! We left at 8:00 in the morning on the bus and arrived around 10:00 in Piazza del Campo, Siena. After finding some shade in the Piazza for lunch, we split into two groups to tour the two monumental buildings in the city. One group headed to the Duomo while the other went to the Palazzo Publico for a tour of the incredible frescos. The students were overwhelmed at the sights and the historical explanations. After the tours, the students were given free time in the city for shopping and gelato - they had a great time!

Raul Miyar, the Visual Arts Instructor, gave the students a thorough history of the cathedral before they stepped in to appreciate its beauty. Please enjoy a snippet of his lecture!

We arrived back in Spoleto just in time for dinner with a very tired group. Finally, we wanted to mention to you all that the faculty and staff are beyond impressed at the students and their well mannered behavior during our trips and in Spoleto. They are truly a wonderful group of students that we are so fortunate to have with us here!

A Presto!
